Exactly nerd.
Had we taken more as we should have at home to the likes of, Brentford, Brighton, Southampton and Leeds then this game wouldn't have been as important and we wouldn't be as pissed off at losing yesterday.

Disappointing listening to Declan talk in such glowing terms about them and their stadium right after losing in that manner.

Fair point about counting our blessings compared to where we have been in recent seasons. It’s just hard to see us end a game like that.

We have a good thing going but we have to keep it going. How many seasons have we been trying to build something, being the 15th richest club etc…endless seasons of underachieving …well he we are! Building something!, but if we stop looking forward then we can have no complaints about reverting back to our relegation candidate status. We need to invest, so what’s holding us back? As many have said, it’s often the hope that hurts with this club.

To be fair yesterday should've been a free hit. Losing to Leeds and Southampton is the problem

Who played the ball back to Dawson .. that was why we lost the ball.

Not much really to feel sorry for the fans about.

Yes dropped some sore points, but we’re still in contention for a top 7 finish, plus in the last 16 of the Europa League and will surely be in the 5th round of the FA Cup.

The way some of you go on, I’m not sure how you cope when we’re battling relegation.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
For all our good work we are being found out. We don’t have the depth to carry a season at this level and we don’t have a Lingard coming to the rescue. Mid table beckons. We could easily finish below the like of wolves and villa who are investing in their teams and in good runs of form, those are the 6 pointers for us now.

Regardless, Yesterday was plain unprofessional and humiliating to give them the fairytale ending and effectively what could have been our place in Europe on a plate.

Rice can knock it off too. It’s like he was auditioning for a transfer to them and blowing smoke up their asses with all that talk about their wonderful stadium.

The time added on is a minimum. It's up to the ref if he wants to give more.

Gutted for the folks that made the journey more than anything.

Ultimately, if you keep dropping points at home against shit teams, games like this take on far more meaning in the context of the season than they should.

Whatever.
The loss is down to our naivety and dismal game management.
I stand by my lack of belief in the VAR technology for offsides and the claims being made on its behalf.
But the loss at the end of the day is our fault not timekeeping or VAR.

When the games played even up (which SHOULD be required before the Premier league starts after the FA Cup 4th round ... but won't be) ....we will most likely be around 7th behind the 6 Super league wannabes tussling with the likes of Wolves.
We have done well to climb to that level from our usual pitiful scraping along with the Burnley's & Watford but it comes to another crossroads.
The crucial thing is keeping the likes of Rice & Bowen ... which is only possible if you add more of that quality.
Buying a DCL or similar would be that sort of move

That screenshot also says 1-0 before the ball is in the net. It’s a replay.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
The screen shot I saw as Rashford played the ball had a time clock showing 3mins 11 seconds of the 3 mins.
Didnt see the game so not sure if there was a reason to play beyond 3 mins.
I think everyone says we didnt do enough to win and obviously GALLING that virtually the last kick of both league games against them has cost us a point each time.
But most of that is OUR fault with Nobles pen and our naive play at the end yesterday.

With the VAR I have always said I dont believe the reliance that is put on the 'evidence' with the timing & crayon drawn lines is justified.
There is never any questioning as to whether we are looking at the right frame where the pass has been PLAYED.
This one looks like many when the passer first touches the ball. The next frame probably shows the ball compressed & the next as it is PLAYED with daylight between foot and ball. THAT frame would have Cavani almost certainly offside.
Beyond that with the odd lines seemingly scrawled on are UNCONVINCING.
Close decision but I dont think the evidence presented proves anything.

Only 2 players in the starting eleven that we paid over 20 mill for and both of them was under 30 , we are over achieving with our squad which makes it even more strange that Moyes has not brought anyone in yet

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
All gone now, but I would like to see some footage that has the time on it. My link kept cutting out and one minute they had scored and appears the ref blew up without a restart.
Was it 3 mins 20 secs into injury time they scored?
All seemed to happen without proper analysis of VAR, that view they gave wasn’t conclusive at all, in fact still looked off to me.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
They scored before the 3 minutes were up. There were about 20/30 seconds to go.

I still feel sick. A proper kick in the nuts, just as I had happily settled for a point.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
No point bleating about VAR. The only relevant fact is that the offside/onside freeze frame shows all 3 Man Utd subs in the picture, combining for the goal and our only sub - the 4th member of our back 4 - missing in action, woefully out of position after having gifted them the ball.

Strange sub, weak bench... both on Moyes I'd say

Iron Duke 1:25 Sun Jan 23
Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
In the last ten minutes they had Ronaldo, Fernandes, Cavani, Rashford and Martial on the pitch. Us being so negative allowed them to do this. Why didn’t Moyes counter this by bringing on Noble or Kral for Lanzini or Fornals and shoring up the midfield?

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Not one of the under 23s in the squad that's criminal how will they ever get the experience if you don't introduce them.
Leeds last week had no fears with a team full of youngsters and our under 23s are top of their respective league.

Iron Duke 1:12 Sun Jan 23
Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Were the three minutes up? They definitely need more transparency of injury time. No waiting to see what happens in an attack.

As for the offside, if they didn’t bother drawing lines and just judged it with the naked eye, I would have accepted the decision. Drawing those lines just made it contrived.

But that aside, did we ever look like scoring? Did we even really try? We need to do better than that.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Not sure why they were allowed an extra 20 secs more injury time to score?
There were no stoppages in injury time so after 3 mins the game's finished!
Soon as they score he blows up.
No lengthy VAR check with lines being drawn as there would have been had it been us scoring that goal.
Saying that we got what we deserved as we've become a poor man's Allardyce team with no options to change anything.

What the fuck was that substitution from Moyes? Was Coufal injured, and why swap him for our 3rd choice RB instead of Johnson?
I swear Moyes only put Fredericks on because he made our goal in the cup win earlier this season and thought lightening would strike twice.

No other subs when Antonio, Lanzini & Fornals were offering nothing?

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
To be consistently challenging for top 6 you need a board and a manager that’s prepared to spend money .
Moyes does not seem to be that manager . It’s like he thinks it’s his own money !
After yesterday’s non performance from Antonio I would have thought that Cabral should have been signed last night for what is being reported at a peanuts price of £12.5 million .
